Basil Lynch

I grew up in East Hampton, New York, a beach town on the very end of Long Island. I spent my summers lifeguarding and chasing waves and my winters skipping class to go surf in snowstorms. In 2013 I moved to Boulder, Colorado, for my freshman year of college, where my love for the outdoors and exploring begun. I started using my Toyota FJ Cruiser to access remote areas in the rocky mountains, and the vehicle modifications quickly followed, I was hooked on off-road travel. A year of college passed by, and I decided it wasn’t for me, a friend of mine, and I drove to San Fransisco and then said we’d head south until we were happy, ending up in San Diego. I spent the next five years living in San Diego, working oddball jobs, interning for Chris Burkard, traveling when I could, and working for Mad Media. In 2018 I moved into a camper full time and started wandering around North America, looking for remote campsites and empty waves. I visited nearly every corner of the continent and spent three months in Baja.
